PSE is having intercollegiate challenge and I'm proud to say that financial management students of UM belongs to the top 20 in the Stock Trading Tournament. I hope it stays that way until October. At this time, FS and Thesis are being prepared, screened, rewritten to meet and hopefully, pass the screening for the students to compete in Manila. Here's the letter from PSE.

Greetings!
The Philippine Stock Exchange cordially invites all colleges and universities to join the PSE 2008 Inter-Collegiate Online Stock Trading Challenge and Best Thesis and Feasibility Study Competitions.
The Online Stock Trading Tournament aims to sharpen the stock market skills of participating students by exposing them to a real-world trading experience ? but with the use of virtual money. The tournament runs parallel to real-time PSE stock prices, with online facilities (at www.pse.com.ph) that are patterned after those of online existing brokers. Knowledge and techniques that the participating students get from the simulation game will come handy, if and when the participating students decide to invest in the stock market in the future.
The 2008 edition of the Tournament, which we dubbed ?The PSE-Manila Times Equity Challenge,? will once again be mounted on a nationwide, inter-collegiate level. But unlike previous tilts, this edition is formatted not as an individual but as a team competition.
The Best Thesis and the Best Feasibility Study Awards aim to instill in the minds of students an enthusiasm for ? not to mention, the value of ? in-depth and painstaking research, particularly on topics that are of great relevance to the securities market.
We believe that all these PSE tilts will help popularize the stock market among Filipinos specifically, college students. As an added attraction, cash prizes and trophies await winners in all these competitions.
Please see the attached registration guidelines for the tournaments. For confirmation or for more details, you may call PSE senior specialist, project head Jay PeƱaflor of the PSE Market Education Department at 688-7536 to 39.
Thank you.
